We hope you enjoy the images included in our web galleries. We also hope you find at least one that you connect with and makes you feel you'd like to have your portrait made at our studio. Photography, as with any art form, is subjective in its appeal. There are so many elements that go into making a unique portrait, it would probably take forever to discuss them all ! We'd just like to share two thoughts on what we feel makes Chris Hay Photography stand out as THE choice for your portrait needs.
The Team
Paula and I have been a husband-and-wife team since 1981, defying all the arguments that "married couples can't work together" ! Both artists in our own right, we each bring a style and presence to the studio that is evident everywhere. We're both very easy to get along with and will work with you in planning your portrait the way you want it. There's nothing hurried about a portrait session here, nor is there any pressure to "buy". We DO have a guarantee, though, that you'll love your portraits and we'll do whatever it takes to get you there !
The Studio
After many renovations, we moved the studio to its current location at 250 West Union Street in 2000. Situated on one of the prettiest streets in Somerset, we get almost as many compliments on it as we do on our portraiture! Once you've visited, you'll understand why. It is both a home as well as a studio, so the line sometimes blurs a little on where the boundaries are, but that's the way we like it. Along with the spacious and inviting interior, the outdoor garden courtyard has really been the most appreciated place by all who experience it. There are so many portrait backgrounds available, it's sometimes hard to decide where to start !
